As for my father, the ambassador, he is a collector of old photography and is responsible together with my mother for a very interesting collection of argentine paintings. BUENOS AIRES GREEN FILM FESTIVAL 25 to 31 August 2011 This is the second edition of the GREEN FILM FESTIVAL Buenos Aires. Argentina has quite a big movie industry and a long tradition in this field. In its golden heydays of the 50s the Argentinean film industry competed with Italy and France.
In square dance or in a disco you need to walk up to someone and ask them to dance. If get rejected is very obvious to everybody around you. You came back to your table empty handed. In Tango you can get rejected by all the girls and still nobody knows. The method is as follows: 1-make eye contact with your prospective partner 2-move your head to the side with a gentle swing 3-the woman can proceed in two ways: a) She stands up and walks towards the dance floor and meets you halfway. There you introduce yourself, take her hand and await the music to start. b) She acts like she did not see you…period. No messy rejection. No walk of shame. You just turn around and look for another pair of eyes to practice your “cabeceo”.It is sweet!! All the activities are free and open to everybody. Argentine Wine and wine consumption are an important part of our culture. WE are very proud of our wines and the growing wine industry in Argentina. I remember my grandfather sending me to the store to get wine and a siphon of soda water while my grandma prepared her famous ñoqui a´la bolognesa. In those days, I would have to bring the empty bottle to get a full one. The wines my grandpa drank had silly names like TORO (bull) or CRESPI. He would always splash it with a burst of soda water. If it was summer he would add ice.
