It is often blocked by people rallying or forming a “piquete”, and camping on Avenida de Mayo is not unheard of either (although it’s hardly what we call glamping!). So being stuck in a car that restricts your view, or travelling en-masse in a hot stuffy bus, struggling to hear your guide, is not the way to explore…

Buenos Aires Musical Spectacle – THE BELLS! THE BELLS!

Last Sunday, I had a rare and unique Buenos Aires Musical Experience! My career is about looking for those one offs that make travelers rave about my fantastic city. I went to Plaza de Mayo to witness a ‘Concert of Belfries’. Please do this again soon it was truly amazing. The famous Spanish composer LLorenc Barber, seven bell directors, 34 musicians, 10 percussionists, 7 assistant bellmen, one director of fireworks, and someone pumping out the sirens together rang (pulled, I am not sure) 60 bells distributed in 16 belfries that surround the historical district of Buenos Aires City .

What’s on in Buenos Aires this Week from 13 September 2010

My clients have nicknamed me the fun guru. My talent for ‘sniffing out’ free exhibitions, the best gallery nights and fantastic nights out on the town is somewhat renowned in Buenos Aires. If I do say so myself, and you do not mind me tooting my own horn a little. Every week, I am going to offer my clients a brief note of what’s on and what’s fun in Buenos Aires and even more important to budget travelers – what’s free!
