Polo Buenos Aires – the Giannico family is the real deal!

Polo tuition Buenos Aires, stick and ball practice Buenos Aires and chukkas Buenos Aires – are not all created equal! If you already play polo in Buenos Aires, you will know this. If you are lucky enough to read my various blogs and articles about playing polo in Buenos Aires, you may already have been lucky enough to get my personal recommendation to my own ‘Aston Martin’ on the Buenos Aires polo scene.

Campo Weekend Buenos Aires – Get Away from the City

Campo Weekend Buenos Aires – Get Away from the City

Campo Weekend Buenos Aires. Paradise in Lobos, Buenos Aires, Argentina. We tend to think in terms of people owning real estate. Casa de Lord is a piece of real estate that takes ownership of a person. It simply consumes you in the best of ways. My two-and-a-half days there left me feeling as if I had spent a two week vacation there. Then came Monday….when can I make my next campo weekend in Buenos Aires….I need to go back!

Art Fair Buenos Aires-EXPOTRASTIENDAS 2011.

Art Fair Buenos Aires-EXPOTRASTIENDAS 2011.

11TH ANNUAL EXPOTRASTIENDAS ART FAIR IN BUENOS AIRES 1ST to 5th of September 2011 Art is a very big part of argentine life, in fact, may people say that Buenos Aires is the cultural capital of South America and who am I to argue. The minute you arrive you notice, literally!! Last week I was invited to an art exhibition opening at the airport hallway art space La Paz. Can you believe it, prospective buyers were sipping champagne, mingling and deciding, and all the while jetlagged passengers kept creeping by with their luggage with perplexed looks in their sleepy eyes. Chez moi, art has always been present. Both my aunt (my photograph is of her painting) Poupee Tessio and my brother Mariano Airaldi are artists, and my mother is their unofficial Theo van Gogh as well as a furnisher restaurateur . As for my father, the ambassador, he is a collector of old photography and is responsible together with my mother for a very interesting collection of argentine paintings. My sister and I are starting collections thanks to the great prices, our aunt´s “donations” and the great talent young talent in Argentina. 11TH ANNUAL EXPOTRASTIENDAS is an art fair organized annually by the Argentine Association of Galleries since 2001. This year´s edition kicks off a new decade for this mega fest of local art. All the most important galleries in one place for visitors to enjoy and a great opportunity to add an argentine art piece to your collection. A private viewing with our art consultant can be arranged by contacting: www.buenos-aires-experience.com EXPOTRASTIENDAS is proud to promote talent of all ages, diciplines, and styles. TANGO WORLD CUP & FESTIVAL 2011

TANGO WORLD CUP & FESTIVAL 2011

In square dance or in a disco you need to walk up to someone and ask them to dance. If get rejected is very obvious to everybody around you. You came back to your table empty handed. In Tango you can get rejected by all the girls and still nobody knows. The method is as follows: 1-make eye contact with your prospective partner 2-move your head to the side with a gentle swing 3-the woman can proceed in two ways: a) She stands up and walks towards the dance floor and meets you halfway. There you introduce yourself, take her hand and await the music to start. b) She acts like she did not see you…period. No messy rejection. No walk of shame. You just turn around and look for another pair of eyes to practice your “cabeceo”.It is sweet!! All the activities are free and open to everybody. Great opportunity to take up Tango, with the best instructors of Buenos Aires. I hope to see you guys “cabeceando” and you ladies stretching your hand out to them in the milongas of Buenos Aires. No rejections please! It is only a dance, plus, always remember, ¨It takes two to Tango”!!!

Climate & Travel Planning Buenos Aires

Climate & Travel Planning Buenos Aires

Climate Buenos Aires My Australians were freezing. I had spoken to them at least three times before they travelled and checked into their apartment and I did think we’d discussed climate or temperature. Still, they were coming from the Southern hemisphere and so I would automatically assume that they knew it was winter in Buenos Aires and our ‘cockles were being frozen’ by an Antarctic weather front.

Football Argentina – Copa America 2011

Argentina is the host nation for the Copa America, the continental championship for national teams, which usually comes down to Argentina and Brazil fighting it out. The championship is 95 years old _ the oldest for national teams _ and ranks in prestige just behind the World Cup and the European championship.
